Questioning Divayth Fyr's referance to Lorkhan
      #1535712 - 06/25/03 12:43 PM

"The Heart of Lorkhan was, by Legend, cast into Vvardenfell, creating Red Mountain. The Dwemer were native to this region, and had they uncovered this Heart, it seems likely that they would have the ability to gain something from it. Why else would Lorkhan and Dagoth Ur storm the Mountain? Surely, Lorkhan would dearly love to retrieve his Heart, but Dagoth Ur was also intent on the unknown power of the Heart."
-Divayth Fyr

AG: What does Lord Fyr mean by this? Surely if Lorkhan is a true God, then retrieving his heart shouldn't be that much of a problem. This brings up the question did Lorkhan finally succeed in retrieving his Heart once Kagrenac's enchantments had been broken by the Nerevarine?

I remember reading that the Nerevarine and Indoril Nerevar and several other important characters, Tiber Septim included, might have been incarnations of Lorkhan, so, by that, he DID get his heart back.

I think he was refering to The Five Songs of King Wulfharth which states that Lorkhan/Shor went to then Resdaynia trying to recover his heart from the Dwemer.

I agree with Nazz.

Although, now that the Nerevarine has struck the Heart, it is possible that Lorkhan has gotten it back or is in the process of finding it once again. I do not know.

Yeah, that view of the battle comes from the Nord perspective, but i think the quote from Divayth Fyr must come off these forums, i know that there was a well-regarded poster by that name, although he posts very rarely - im guessing the reference was from an old post.

If this supposition is correct, could we have a link please Alastor?

On topic, if Lorkhan were to retrieve his heart, what affects could this have on the mundus, as they seem to be fundamentally tied together.

I wish I knew how to add a link to a thread. I've tried several times but all I get is a broken link.

Anyway the poster is Divayth Fyr the Psijiic from his post in 'The Psijiic Endeavor'.

The central problem is 'What is Lorkhan' here, and this ultimaltly cannot be answered, aside from pure myth and speculation. It just puzzled me that Lord Fyr seemed to refer to Lorkhan as a mortal and not a God. Why? Why oh Why is all I ever hear from my lips anymore!

Note: Wulf is a character you can meet before storming Red Mountain, is this coincidence? I don't think so.

Alastor,

To establish a link to another thread:-

1. Open the thread in your browser window.

2. Copy the full URL or web address (http:// etc.) to your clipboard

3. In your post window, click on "URL" under "Instant UBB Code"

4. Paste the URL you copied into the edit box of the dialogue box that has now opened and click OK

5. Now add the text that you wish to appear as a link to the new edit box that you see and again click OK

6. Your new UBB code will insert itself into your post text, you can now move it about or edit the text between the [] [/] tags.

Oh, and thank you for the reference - take heart these are important questions and the answers are not easy.

The Psijiic Endeavor

A big thanks to Nigedo for his assistance!

I highly suggest you all take a look at all the posts by Lord Fyr as they are full of enlightenment, humor, and important questions pertaining to many of the very same things we try to understand ourselves.
